The Dowlat office building handed over to Cedrus Architecture Studio during the brickwork phase. In the facade design, due to the existing structure and the facade angle the street, two volumes were designed in combination with each other: a ceramic shell alongside a curtain wall and metal frames. Besides, metal louvers were used as a semi-transparent curtain being a barrier to the overcrowded Dowlat Street. There is an installation space for facade lighting behind the louvers.
The attractive contrast between transparency and rigidity of these two materials is in harmony with the office character of the building. The existing lobby was a small space, which expanded in the redesign phase. This expansion creates through the integration and connectedness of all lobby surfaces. We formed a black box that, in combination with the Louvres, a transparent wall, and a water fountain, became a unique space, no longer looks small. The building consists of 24 administrative units. The interior of the office units is also minimal, flexible, and transparent.
